What is a Personal Finance Access Code?

It’s a code generated by Capital One 360 that allows you to sign in to personal financial management tools. You’ll use this Access Code as your password along with your Customer Number/Saver ID (Username) as your username. 

By using an Access Code, your sign in information remains private and you prevent anyone from transacting on your account(s).

What is a personal financial management tool?

A personal financial management tool is software, a website, widget, or an app used to help you track your financial activities across multiple financial institutions or multiple accounts within the same institution. These tools are often referred to as ‘aggregators’. Typically, they collect information from accounts across banks or brokerages so you can view your personal finances in one spot.

In order to pull your Capital One 360 information into one of these tools, you’ll need to give us the okay to allow this access. We’ll create a unique Access Code that you can use to sign into the tool. This Code allows your sign in information to stay private and keeps you and your accounts safe and secure. 

How do I set up my Capital One 360 access for my personal financial management tool?

You’ll need an Access Code from us in order to set up your personal financial management tool with your Capital One 360 account.

Here’s how to create an Access Code:

  1. Sign in to capitalone360.com with your Customer Number/Saver ID (Username) and PIN.
  2. Select the ‘My Info’ tab.
  3. Go to 'Preferences' and choose the 'Access Code' section.
  4. Click on the ‘Create Access Code’ button. We’ll generate an Access Code which you can use as your password along with your Customer Number/Saver ID (Username) as your username to sign in to the tool.

If I feel my information may have been compromised, how do I change my Access Code?

Changing your Access Code is easy. Just follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to capitalone360.com with your Customer Number/Saver ID (Username) and Sign In PIN.
  2. Click on the ‘My Info’ tab.
  3. Go to 'Preferences' and choose the 'Access Code' section.
  4. Select the ‘Create New Code’ button.

Can I block these tools from downloading my Capital One 360 account transactions?

If you’re ever a victim of fraud, you can block your access at anytime. By blocking access, no personal financial management tools will be able to access your Capital One 360 account(s). Here’s how to block access:

  1. Sign in to capitalone360.com with your Customer Number/Saver ID (Username) and Sign In PIN.
  2. Click on the 'My Info' tab.
  3. Go to 'Preferences' and choose the 'Access Code' section.
  4. Select the 'Block Access' button.

If you want to unblock access from your personal financial management tool, just click the 'Create New Code' button to generate a new Access Code.

How do I check to see what Access Code I gave my personal financial management tool?

You can look up your Access Code at anytime online:

  1. Sign in to capitalone360.com with your Customer Number/Saver ID (Username) and Sign In PIN.
  2. Click on the 'My Info' tab.
  3. Your current Access Code will be in the 'Access Code' section.
