Setting up security questions and answers helps add an extra layer of security and identify verification for you and your accounts. You'll come across the security questions you answered when signing in to capitalone360.com, and possibly when calling to speak to an Associate. An Associate may ask you the answer to the security questions you set as a form of identification when you can't remember your Password/Sign In PIN. The Associate may also ask you for your date of birth, address and/or Social Security Number.
Why don't I see my image and phrase anymore?
We've retired the image and phrase because capitalone360.com now supports Extended Validation Certificates, which is a fancy way of saying that your browser is now able to detect if the URL you visited and the website's security certificate match. If the background of your address bar is green, you can rest assured that the certificate is for a legitimate website.
For additional peace of mind, you can always click the padlock icon in your address bar and click 'View certificates' to review the website's certificate information.
