BUMP P2P

What is a Bump Person2Person Payment?

Bump P2P is the ability to "bump" two phones together and instantly send money from one person's 360 Checking to another.

How does Bump P2P work?

Bumping money to your friend is easy. First, make sure your friend (and you) has our app already installed on their iOS or Android device, and then follow the steps below. Don’t have our app installed? See how to install it.

  1. Sign in to the app.
  2. Select the 'Menu' button in the top left.
  3. Choose 'Bump Money.'
  4. If you're sending a payment, type in the amount and select 'Send.' If you’re receiving a payment, select 'Receive.'
  5. A window will open and ask you to bump phones (BTW, you don’t actually have to 'bump' your phones – just shake them enough to activate the accelerometer).
  6. After bumping, choose 'Yes' to send or receive your payment.
  7. That's it. You'll see a screen confirming the payment.

What’s the difference between bumping and emailing a P2P Payment?

Bumping a payment doesn't require you to know your friend's email address or account info. You just both need to have 360 Checking and an iOS or Android device with our app downloaded and the transfer will happen instantly.

Emailing your payment is a great option if your friend doesn't already have 360 Checking, they don't have the app, or you two aren't together.

Is bumping money secure?

Yep. We use industry standard encryption to pass data between two phones.

Why am I getting the message "There's a problem connecting to Bump. Check your network or try again in a bit."?

This error occurs when your device can’t connect to Bump’s servers, and may be related to your Internet connection or a slow data connection. Chances are it will work if you try bumping again or give it a minute.

Why am I getting the message “No Match” when I try to bump with my friend?

That just means that we couldn't connect your two devices when you bumped. Make sure you have a valid Internet connection (either 3G or Wifi) and the GPS on your phone is turned on.

Does it cost anything to bump a P2P Payment?

Nope. Bump is completely free for Customers to use. Just remember, you must both have 360 Checking to bump.

If my friend has an Android and I have an iPhone, can we still bump a payment?

Yep, you can bump money between any of the supported devices. Pretty cool, huh?

What do you need in order to bump?

In order to bump money, you must BOTH have:

  • iOS or Android devices
  • The Capital One app downloaded
  • 360 Checking

What phones are supported for Bump P2P?

Bump works on any iOS device running 4.3 and above, such as iPhone®, iPod Touch® and iPad®, or any Android device running OS 2.2 and above.
